The Greater Hazleton Clearinghouse Association is a recognized organization consisting of banking institutions operating in the greater Hazleton area.

Since most public funding programs within this web site require partial funding from the private sector, CAN DO has developed a relationship with the Greater Hazleton Clearinghouse Association to provide participation financing.

The process begins with CAN DO receiving an application from an industrial client to finance a qualified project.

Information is shared with member banks (working together) to provide approval of loan participations to fund private sector financing. If appropriate, industrial clients have the option of soliciting individual banks directly.

Each member bank has appointed a commercial loan officer, working as a committee, to process financing requests from CAN DO.

The chairperson of the committee is Arthur A. Tarone, a senior vice president at First Liberty Bank and Trust with 24 years of commercial banking experience.

Mr. Tarone has been a member of the CAN DO board of directors since 1981 and is the contact person for the Greater Hazleton Clearinghouse Association.
